Albany County Sets Minimum Age to Purchase Flare Guns at 21
People in Albany County must now be at least 21 years old to purchase a flare gun, as per an executive order signed by County Executive Dan McCoy.
Previously, there was no minimum age requirement. The change comes after incidents of flare guns causing severe harm and property damage when misused.

McCoy said he does not think kids understand how dangerous flare guns are.
