A Mount Pleasant neighborhood is urging the Town Council to install speed humps on a road with a concerning reputation.
Residents of the Oaks at Marsh View have been seeking speed humps on Mossy Branch Way for nearly four years. According to Sandy Quinqe, the homeowner's association president, drivers often use the road as a shortcut from Rifle Range Road to Ben Sawyer Boulevard.
Despite three traffic studies, no action has been taken, prompting residents to bring their concerns directly to the town council after a recent close call.
"We had this horrible thing,"said Brittany Webb, an Oaks at Marsh View resident.
"Had we just gotten a speed bump that we'd been asking for, this could have slowed him down."
Residents hope that by bringing their pleas to the town council, they can finally get the speed humps installed and improve safety on the road.
