Investigators say they've solved Nassau teen's murder 41 years after she was killed

Breakthrough in 41-Year-Old Murder Case

Investigators have solved the murder of 16-year-old Theresa Fusco, who was found dead near a Lynbrook roller rink in 1984.

Nassau County authorities announced that a new DNA match from a discarded smoothie cup led them to the real killer, Richard Bilodeau, 63, of Center Moriches.

Bilodeau was arraigned on two charges of murder in the second degree, including intentional murder and murder committed during the course of rape, and pleaded not guilty.

Notably, three men previously convicted of the crime were cleared of charges in 2003 due to DNA evidence, after spending nearly two decades in prison.

No statement from the defendant or his representatives was available at the time of reporting.

Author's summary: Murder case solved after 41 years.
