Summit Carbon Solutions Considers Alternative Pipeline Route
Summit Carbon Solutions may be looking to move its carbon dioxide pipeline outside of the Dakotas.
In September, the company filed an amendment to its final order with the Iowa Utilities Commission, as the current text states that Summit cannot build its pipeline until all approvals are made in North and South Dakota.
This year, South Dakota passed a bill banning eminent domain for carbon pipelines, creating a snag for the company, and now they are asking the Iowa Utilities Commission to change the text, allowing them to possibly find a different route.
No specific details on the new route have been announced.
