A new early learning center is set to open in Valley, north of Spokane, with the goal of improving child care in the rural community.
“They’ll start getting in the ground and moving dirt this week,”
said Candace Harris, director of the current Valley Early Learning Center. The new 13,000-square-foot facility will offer year-round child care, special education, and transitional kindergarten.
The project is funded by bond district savings and grants, with an estimated cost of $10 million.
“To be able to have the opportunity to do something like this is amazing,”
said Harris. The new center will be located near the Columbia Virtual Academy and is expected to open next fall.
