Cruise traffic in Milwaukee is expected to nearly triple in 2026, with the number of vessel calls growing from 22 to 60.
This growth will be aided by the introduction of a new, all-American cruise ship, the American Patriot, which will call on Milwaukee six times.
"They're all going to be turnaround visits,"
said Korey Garceau, port trade representative. Turnaround visits mark the end of one trip and the start of another, and are highly desirable for ports due to increased passenger spending and vessel service purchases.
The American Patriot is a 243-foot, 130-passenger vessel with an all-American crew, offering two all-U.S. cruises.
The mid-season opening of the $17 million South Shore Cruise Dock will also contribute to the growth of Milwaukee's cruise season.
