Johnson & Johnson Facing Debut UK Lawsuit

Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and its consumer health care offshoot Kenvue have been hit with the first lawsuit from the UK over allegations that its talcum powder products caused cancer.

The case, brought by UK law firm KP Law on behalf of more than 3,000 individuals, has been filed with the UK’s High Court, with an estimated claim value of over £1bn.

The claim, covering the period from 1965 to 2023, alleges that J&J was aware its talc products contained carcinogenic fibres, including asbestos, but chose to keep them on the market in the

J&J is still grappling with lawsuits from over 62,000 claimants in the US, also alleging its talc products caused cancer.
