HILL, THOMPSON: Taxpayers should know how much their municipal governments spend

Taxpayers' Right to Know

Tegan Hill and Austin Thompson argue that taxpayers should be aware of their municipal governments' expenditures.

Next week, Alberta voters will elect their local governments, and while issues vary by city, town, or district, all municipal governments spend taxpayer money. A recent study found that Grande Prairie County and Red Deer County were among Alberta's highest-spending municipalities per person in 2023.
