The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) has welcomed a new report highlighting the growing crisis in community health services.
The report from the Nuffield Trust reveals that waiting lists for community health services in England have risen sharply, with over 1.1 million people now waiting for community care, a 23% increase for adults and 58% for children and young people since 2022.
The under-resourced community rehabilitation risks undermining the government’s promise to shift care from hospitals into neighbourhood settings.
The CSP warns that this crisis threatens NHS neighbourhood care plans.
