Galveston County Mental Health Wellness Center Opens
The Galveston County Mental Health Wellness Center, an eight-year project, has been hailed as "historic" by county officials.
County officials, including Galveston County Judge Mark Henry, Commissioner Hank Dugie, and Texas Rep. Greg Bonnen, attended an open house celebration for the new center in La Marque.
The facility was toured by guests, including Felicia Jeffery, CEO of the Gulf Coast Center, and Dr. Philip Keiser, Galveston County Local Health Authority.
The center is a means to improve mental health care in the county.
