Benbecula Distillery Secures £1.5m Investment

Benbecula Distillery, one of Scotland's newest whisky producers, has acquired a £1.5m investment from the British Business Bank's Investment Fund for Scotland.

The investment, delivered via Maven Capital Partners, will enable the distillery to start its growth programme, scaling up production, supporting whisky maturation, and expanding its headcount on the island.

Benbecula Distillery, located on the island of Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides, began production in spring 2024, reviving a 130-year-old recipe. The distillery has quickly established itself in Scotland's whisky industry, opening its visitor centre and café, and offering guided tours, whisky tastings, and island cuisine.

The deal is the Investment Fund's first equity investment in the Highlands and Islands.

The funding will support the distillery's growth plans, including increasing production and expanding its team.
