Rochester to Join Great Lakes Cruises
Rochester will be a stop on some Great Lakes cruises next year, marking a significant boost to local tourism.
The city has been left out of the booming Great Lakes cruise industry, which has filled wharves in cities like Toronto, Detroit, and Milwaukee. However, American Cruise Lines will introduce a nine-day cruise with stops in Rochester, Buffalo, Oswego, and Clayton in the Thousand Islands.
Local tourism and government officials couldn't explain the ghosting but would be working to rectify it.
The introduction of the American Patriot, a brand-new luxury cruise ship, will provide a boost to Rochester's self-image and tourism industry.
