M4 Closed Eastbound After Vehicle Fire
Drivers are facing long delays on the M4 due to a vehicle fire that closed the eastbound carriageway.
The closure is between J14 (Hungerford) and J13 (Chieveley) in Berkshire. Initially, one of three lanes was also closed on the M4 westbound between J13 and J14, but all lanes have since reopened in this direction.
Diversion Route
- Follow the A338 to the A4 roundabout
- Turn left at the roundabout and follow the A4 to the A34 interchange
- At the A34 roundabout, use the 2nd exit and follow the A34 to the M4 J13 interchange
Motorists are advised to follow the hollow circle diversion symbol.
No official statement has been released regarding the cause of the vehicle fire.
