Trump's Layoffs Impact Disabled Children
The recent layoffs in the Department of Education have raised concerns, particularly in the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), where all but two senior staff members received reduction-in-force notices.

Approximately 460 people across the Department of Education received RIF notices, which is roughly one in five workers in the agency. The OSEP plays a crucial role in distributing funding connected to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), supporting around 7.5 million disabled students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
