Tasmania’s Chief Thoroughbred Steward Sacked
Tasracing has dismissed its chief thoroughbred steward following an investigation into "conduct-related matters".
The senior racing official was terminated on Monday, after being stood down on September 21, just days after starting in the role on September 15.
Racing Integrity Commissioner Sean Carroll stated that his office was "satisfied with the manner in which Tasracing has managed the situation" and called the conduct "disappointing".
The commissioner was "satisfied with the manner in which Tasracing has managed the situation since becoming aware of the allegations"
The specifics of the steward's misconduct have not been disclosed by Tasracing or the state's racing watchdog.
