Boeing Unveils Concept for Army Unmanned Tiltrotor Aircraft
Boeing has revealed a concept for a tiltrotor drone wingman to support the Army's helicopter fleet.
The CxR aircraft is designed to operate alongside Army helicopters in combat and cargo operations, with a focus on reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition, and attack missions.
"We see a lot of demand in that RSTA mission: reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition and attack,"
According to Chris Speights, chief engineer for Boeing's vertical lift division, the Army's use of the Apache is evolving, and this concept provides options and flexibility for future missions.
