Properly Secure Cargo to Prevent Roadside Debris
When hauling cargo or taking rubbish to the transfer station, ensure it is properly secured and covered.
According to the Hawai‘i Island police, most roadside debris is not intentionally discarded, but rather falls or is blown out of vehicles.
Loose items or unsecured items can easily blow out of open-bed trucks, trailers or roof racks, becoming road hazards and contributing to litter and traffic collisions.
