Meet Jeff Bairstow, Candidate for District 4 Marion County Commission
Jeff Bairstow, a former Ocala police officer, has joined the race for the District 4 Marion County commission seat, currently held by incumbent Carl Zalak.
Bairstow, a Republican, is one of three challengers to Zalak, who plans to seek a fifth term. Other candidates include Clint Barkley, a Republican, and Anthony Barriner-Massa, with no party affiliation.
In related news, Erica Lynne Hay has announced her intention to run for the District 2 seat, currently held by incumbent Kathy Bryant, who is not seeking re-election.
The general election is scheduled for November 2026, with county commissioners serving four-year terms and earning an annual salary of $107,386.
