NFU secures more flexibility for Seasonal Worker Scheme

NFU Secures Flexibility for Seasonal Worker Scheme

The National Farmers' Union (NFU) has achieved a change to the Seasonal Worker Scheme, allowing workers to re-enter the UK sooner.

This change, effective from November 11, permits horticulture workers to work in the UK for up to six months within any 10-month period, enabling seamless transitions across growing seasons.

"This is a significant achievement and something we’ve long been campaigning for,"

said NFU Horticulture and Potatoes Board Chair Martin Emmett. The change is expected to increase the availability of seasonal workers, particularly for early crops.

Author's summary: NFU secures flexibility for seasonal workers.
