Minnehaha County's New Juvenile Justice Center
Minnehaha County is nearly ready to open its new $42 million juvenile justice center.
The county invited media to tour the facility, offering a glimpse inside before the kids in custody move in.
Facility Features
- A garage for secure and private intake of kids into custody
- A booking area with temporary holding rooms
- Day-to-day rooms arranged in blocks of eight, with an ideal staff-to-child ratio of 1:8
The new facility aims to provide a more private and secure environment for kids in custody.
