New Orleans' 2025 Deficit Estimated at $160M
The city of New Orleans' budget deficit for 2025 is expected to be significantly larger than previously estimated, according to State Auditor Mike Waguespack.
Waguespack informed councilmembers that the city is facing a $160 million deficit, exceeding previous estimates of $103 million provided by the New Orleans City Council and the Bureau of Governmental Research.
According to Waguespack, the city is staring down a $160 million deficit for the 2025 budget year.
