Chris White, the rookie winner of the 2024-2025 Bridgestone GR86 Championship, made a notable debut at Bathurst, supporting the Bathurst 1000 event.
White, a Christchurch motorsport star, secured his drive in the third round of the 2025 Toyota Australia GR Cup due to his rookie successes in New Zealand. He aimed to make steady progress throughout the weekend's practice sessions, qualifying, and three races.
Although a huge crash in the first race hindered his chances of advancing from 26th spot on the grid, White made significant strides in the remaining two races. He improved to 22nd in the second race and finished 14th in the final race on Sunday.
"We had set out to find the pace to be in or just outside the top ten within the three races so in the end getting to 14th with only two races was pretty satisfying,"
he said, reflecting on his overall performance.
