Pro-Hamas Messages Disrupt Kelowna and Victoria Airports

On Tuesday, October 14, flights at Kelowna and Victoria airports were delayed due to a cyber security incident.

The incident occurred between 5 p.m. at both the Kelowna International Airport (YLW) and Victoria International Airport (YYJ), where pro-Hamas messages were displayed on screens and broadcast through public address systems.

According to the Kelowna airport, the unauthorized messaging was removed, and flight information display screens were restored. The airport is working to restore the PA system.

The City of Kelowna stated that the incident was limited to a cloud-based third-party software provider.
