A Vermont Republican state senator is under pressure to resign after a leaked group chat revealed racist and antisemitic messages.
Samuel Douglass, 27, a first-term senator from Orleans County, was involved in a racist text chat with fellow young Republicans from four states, including Vermont.

Vermont Gov. Phil Scott called on Douglass to resign, stating the above. Douglass was recently nominated for “Legislator of the Year” at the Vermont GOP’s Awards Night.
