Five teenagers have had their charges upgraded to murder following an alleged fatal stabbing south of Wollongong earlier this year.
On Tuesday, 28 January 2025, emergency services were called to Saturn Crescent, Dunmore, after a 25-year-old man was found suffering serious stab wounds. Despite treatment by NSW Ambulance paramedics, he could not be revived.
Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District established Strike Force Feods and commenced an investigation into the incident with the assistance of State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
- Initial investigations revealed the man had allegedly been stabbed during a fight involving a number of people who left in an SUV.
- The vehicle was later recovered in Albion Park Rail and seized for forensic examination.
A 15-year-old boy and a 38-year-old woman were charged with murder and remain before the court.
