Safety Upgrades on Queensland Freight Route
Safety upgrades are expected to begin on the Warrego Highway, a key freight corridor in Queensland that sees up to 15,000 vehicles daily.
The 60-kilometre stretch between Toowoomba and Dalby has a poor crash history, prompting the need for upgrades under the Targeted Road Safety Program.

- New signage and line marking
- Removal of roadside hazards
- Installation of dedicated turn lanes at Speed Road near Oakey
Construction is set to commence in late 2025 and continue into 2026, following the completion of design in September.
