Indian Motorcycle Under New Ownership
US motorcycle maker Indian Motorcycles has undergone a change in ownership.
The sale of a majority stake in Indian Motorcycle by Polaris to Carolwood, a real estate and private equity firm, has led to this change.
Indian Motorcycle will continue to operate as part of Polaris until the deal is complete, expected to occur in early 2026.
- Manufacturing facilities in Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Monticello, Minnesota will transition to the new standalone company.
- The industrial design and technology center in Burgdorf, Switzerland will also transition after the deal is finalized.
Polaris will retain a small equity in the new firm.
No official statement has been provided on the future plans of the new company.
